For families living here the local councils provide many courses for the children, which include Ballet, Judo, Karate, Gymnastics and an excellent Football program with training twice a week and a match on Saturday. Also they host various fiestas in their town centres where the locals come out in there traditional dress.

Over the years the coast line has changed in the south of the Island to make way for new beaches and more infrastructures so as to accommodate the growing population. A lot of the old parts of Las Americas and Los Cristianos are now being upgraded by the Local Councils to accommodate the same standards as Fañabe in Costa Adeje.
